Story Of English Babu Desi Mem Full Movie
English Babu Desi Mem Full Movie is a 1996 Bollywood film directed by Praveen Nischol and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Sonali Bendre, and Sunny Singh. The movie follows the story of Vikram Mayur, an NRI who returns to India to claim his inheritance and falls in love with the girl his father chose for him. The movie deals with themes of love, identity, and cultural clashes.
The movie begins with Vikram Mayur (Shah Rukh Khan) arriving in India to claim his inheritance from his late father. Vikram is an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) who has lived most of his life in England and is unfamiliar with Indian customs and traditions. Upon his arrival, he is greeted by his father’s lawyer, Mr. Banerjee (Alok Nath), who informs him that his father has left him a large estate in India.
Vikram is accompanied by his best friend, Goldie (Sunny Singh), who acts as his guide and translator in India. Vikram is initially hesitant to embrace his Indian roots and prefers to dress and behave like an English gentleman. However, he soon realizes that his father’s estate is in dire need of repairs, and he sets out to renovate it.
During his stay in India, Vikram meets Gauri (Sonali Bendre), the girl his father had chosen for him to marry. Gauri is a traditional Indian girl who is deeply rooted in her culture and values. She is initially wary of Vikram, who she perceives as a foreigner who is out of touch with his Indian heritage. However, over time, Vikram begins to appreciate the beauty of Indian culture and traditions and falls in love with Gauri.
The movie takes a dramatic turn when Vikram’s uncle, Dhanraj (Kiran Kumar), who is his father’s step-brother, makes a claim on the estate. Dhanraj believes that he is entitled to the estate, and he uses underhanded tactics to try and oust Vikram. Vikram must now fight to save his inheritance and protect his newfound love, Gauri.
One of the strengths of English Babu Desi Mem is the exceptional performances of the cast. Shah Rukh Khan delivers a nuanced and charming performance as Vikram Mayur. He brings a sense of vulnerability and depth to the character, and he conveys the cultural clashes and identity crisis that Vikram experiences with great skill. Sonali Bendre, in turn, delivers a convincing performance as Gauri. She captures the spirit and warmth of the character with ease and conveys the conflicts and challenges that Gauri faces with authenticity.
The supporting cast is also excellent, with Sunny Singh delivering a memorable performance as Goldie, Vikram’s best friend. Alok Nath brings a sense of gravitas and wisdom to his role as Mr. Banerjee, and Kiran Kumar is suitably menacing as Dhanraj.
The music of English Babu Desi Mem, composed by Nikhil-Vinay, is another highlight of the movie. The songs are melodious and memorable, and they add to the emotional impact of the story. The song “Deewana Main Tera Deewana” became an instant hit and is still remembered fondly by fans of Hindi cinema.
The movie also benefits from the excellent direction of Praveen Nischol. He brings a sense of realism and authenticity to the movie, and he handles the themes of the movie with maturity and sensitivity. The movie is well-paced and engaging, and it keeps the audience invested in the story.
English Babu Desi Mem is a heartwarming movie that celebrates the beauty of Indian culture and traditions.
